Types Of Tools Used By Different People.
Not everyone uses a hand tool the same, and some companies recognize that with specialty tool lines.
Manufacturers recognize two differences in tool handlers, some are female and some are left handed.
While right-handed people may take it for granted and only think about the difference if they pick up a pair of left-handed scissors, hand tools are also designed for right-handed people. Many everyday tools are affected with the exception of hammers and screwdrivers.
Tape measures, for example, are designed to pull from left to right, and while they will work in either direction, using them right to left, as a southpaw would do, means learning to read the numbers upside down.
A number of companies recognize this difference and manufacture tools that are marketed through specialty sites. Scissors and tape measures are not the only tools sold at these stores but they also seel things such as pruning shears, concreting trowels, gripping tools and Swiss army knives plus much more.
Woman’s tools are an even broader market. Many stores sell “women’s tools”, which are often sized smaller and may be in more feminine colors. With pink handled tools and kept inside pink tool boxes they are easily spotted. Being smaller than usual these tools are designed specifically for smaller projects. Like the general tool kits, you can choose as many or as few options as you want.
Women do not just differ from men because of the different in strength but if they choose to undertake larger projects than hanging picture frames they will need tools specifically made for them.
If you’re one of these women, then there are product lines designed to do more than make you look feminine while you work. The tools are more than just smaller and a mor ladylike color they are actually made to specifications based on the physiology of women.
The Latitude tool line, for example, considers weight, shape and user fit to match the typical build, size and strength of women. It promises premium tools that work with the ergonomics of women without sacrificing performance.
Options for women and left-handed tool users typically don’t extend to power tools or more expensive types of tools. Manufacturers design these tools with the largest customer base in mind, which means if you’re a non-traditional tool user, you will have to adapt.
Tools that are carried on your belt women also have there own belts designed specifically for them as well There may be tools out there that better suit you for your specific needs if you still find it difficult using pliers, scissors or reading the measuring tape.
