I need some suggestion or advice if I want to add on turbo kit for my Silvertop engine (4AGE-20V)!!! Please anybody have experience for this engine please tell me how much cost and what brand of turbo kit to use and other stuff. A friend with a 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo was at $2150.00 on his turbo replacement.

Have seen some 20V turbo cars running around since sometimes ago, I’d say keep it at low boost, says around 6-8psi, if you are only gonna use the stock 20V ECU. The ignition timing is always the problem and you won’t want to blow your engine when you are having some fun at the lights.

So how do you power a canoe or anything else? Well, there are a couple of ways to extract power from a engine such as this. One is to put a second turbo fed from waste air and use its shaft to drive something like a canoe for example.

A turbo in the sense of the car engine is an accessory designed to compress the air before it enters the engine therefore adding more air per volume and making more power. In North America the Ford Escort was sold with a variety of normally aspirated and generally under powered 4 cylinder engines, but the Escort Cosworth came with the Cosworth YBT turbo charged 2.2 liter four cylinder engine which put out 227 hp in stock trim and was easily capable of producing much more with a little tuning.

This engine was drastically underpowered for the turbo we had so we set out to build a bigger one. The next one we built from 16 guage sheet steel. We bent it into concentric cylinders and drilled the inner one.

Thirdly, you need to make sure you have clearance through your engine bay and suspension bays for the driveshafts to go. This engine self-sustained the first try! It seemed to be running very well with propane. So we hooked up the acetylene tank.

Well, the Supra CAN be a monster of a car. It is a very good platform for high-boost modifications, but a stock turbo Supra only produces about 300 hp. I’ve only raced one once in my ’99 Camaro SS and I won pretty easily.

Fourth, heat the gremlin of turbocharged cars. What you see a lot of is manufacturers who add on cooling to the turbo but don’t add extra cooling to the car. At which case the radiator has to cool both the turbo and the engine, and the temperatures of both rise.

A turbo or turbine is a wheel designed to convert flow of a medium into rotation. In other words, the turbo is exhaust driven. As for liquid cooling, it’s not only the weight of the radiators. It’s also the weight of the coolant.
